With all the sound bars running around the last couple of years, people have gotten in love with the Virtual surround sound these produce. I must say I was impressed when some of my friends (serious audiophiles), have recommended I try some sound bar systems; they usually work (and play) with serious audio equipment, big bad 9.1-7.1 expensive home theater systems. It’s nice to see more and more people taking a liking to these little wonders, and making them available for the more general public sort of speak.

One of the first sound bar systems I ever got to review, was the Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar. Since then Sony got their game up and produced amazing similar systems with a bundle of features for very good prices.

Take this unit for example; it was released to the market earlier this year, and it was made available for purchase from retailer around the end of March/beginning of April. Since then I spoke with some really enthusiastic users and everyone seems to be overall satisfied with their purchase.

Pros:
  • S-Force PRO Front Surround 3D virtual surround sound
  • 2-way, 4-driver mica reinforced speaker system
Cons:
  • No HDMI cables included
  • Not all USB devices are supported

This 2.1 Channel system delivers 330 Watts of total sound power. I find it more than enough for a small to mid-sized room. This will definitely bring your TV watching/music listening experience to a whole new level for a decent price. With 330 watts, this remarkable piece of audio equipment audio delivers a rich, natural sound with incredible clarity and definition. This will make you enjoy your favorite movie, game, or TV show even more every time. When it comes to bass and the sound effects we all love, the wireless sub-woofer is the one that will deliver what they advertise to be "heart-pounding" bass. The Sony HT-CT660's wireless sub-woofer will deliver great bass without the clutter of cables around your entertainment or living room; wherever your system is set up.

The quality and "feel" of the sound and overall experience is further enhanced by features like Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio modes that will re-produce high definition, discrete sound for uncompromised sound quality. Another amazing feature that will allow you to enjoy a cinematic simulated surround sound is the Sony’s S-Force PRO Front Surround 3D technology. The S-Force PRO Front Surround 3D that comes with the Sony HT-CT660 sound bar system will synchronize the sound to match the motion and depth of image on screen. This provides a fully immersive simulated 3D surround experience, that everyone is looking for without braking the bank.

The one thing people seem to go crazy about is streaming capabilities. This unit is really great when it comes to that by providing Bluetooth media streaming. You can stream music directly from your devices and gadgets. By utilizing the Near Field Communication (NFC) feature and Bluetooth, you can connect and wirelessly stream music from any compatible smartphone or tablet by simply touching them together just once. This Sony HT-CT660 system also comes with three high-definition source devices (3x HDMI Inputs) for superior high-definition picture and sound quality.

Now, as for my recommendation, I do not only recommend this, but endorse it with all the confidence in the world. I know that everyone who will purchase this unit will have a blast and highly enjoy it. Every reviewer I spoke to said they' would highly recommend this unit for anyone who would like to upgrade from their TV speakers.
