Since its first date available on Amazon on September 10, 2012, the Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar Home Theater System has climbed up the ladders to reach #8 in the Soundbar Speakers best-sellers rank. Personally, I see it going up in the upcoming weeks.

In the past couple of years, Sony has demonstrated that you can be on a budget and still enjoy the quality of their innovative audio technology. The Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar makes no exception. Everyone that loves quality sound and heart pounding bass can fit this system in their living room with no effort. The reduced dimensions of this unit will benefit anyone with a limited space.

Pros:
  • Compact, stylish design
  • Simulated, room-filling surround sound
Cons:
  • The sound bar gets fairly hot when playing at louder volumes for longer periods of time

Bringing a new compact and stylish design, this system is more than just fairly easy to setup. The wireless subwoofer gives you the ability to place it anywhere in the room you find suited without having to drive wires all around. The Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar is Bluetooth compatible, giving you the ability to access you favorite music from a large variety of devices in no time (smartphones, tablets, music players, PC). Thou I am not a big fan of the Bluetooth open wireless technology, I must admit this worked quite flawlessly, and I see no reasons why somebody would have any issues with it.

This 2.1 Channel home theater system offers you 85W x 2 + 130W of pure quality power. This may not be the hardest pounding system. but it most definitely is one of the best Sound Bar systems available on the market today. One feature that is highly praised within this category of products is their hassle free installation. The Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar is no different. Simply connect it to a HDTV with a Digital Optical cable (included with the system).

The fact that this is a wall mountable unit is considered good news for those that already have their TVs up on the wall. Even though you can simply place it on a tabletop, the system can also be easily mounted on a wall using its own integrated keyhole wall mounts, without the need for any separate brackets.

This system might disappoint any audiophiles out there, so I don't recommend it if you're looking for the 'boomest' system on the market. But since this is a sound bar, I guess most people willing to buy something like this are just looking for an enriched TV-watching experience, and this will definitely be delivered with the Sony HT-CT260 Sound Bar. There's no doubt that the clutter-free home theater system and the rich, natural sound, incredible clarity, and definition will satisfy any TV family room.
