I’ve recently reviewed one of the first Sharp products I’ve ever tested. Now it’s time for a new one, and this is of course a soundbar system. Although I never was a big advocate for the Sharp brand, this affordable soundbar really caught my eye for more than just one reason.

Introduced on the market recently, this unit created no buzz whatsoever; like many other affordable audio systems, this unit will probably go unnoticed for a long time. I said this before, if companies would pay half as much attention advertising affordable units, as they do high-ticket products, a lot more people would have access to quality audio equipment (which they can actually afford) and a lot more sales.

This unit has been made available for purchase at Amazon on March 11, 2013. Hasn't seen any real popularity, and no customer reviews have yet to show up. I tried to find out what users thought of the Sharp HE HT-SB20 and gathered a few opinions.

First of all, the one thing that caught my eye was its design; although I'm not usually a big fan of this, the unique exposed driver design the Sharp HE HT-SB20 features looks not only nice, but along with the premium brushed material the unit looks actually "high-class", most of the time this design makes units look kitschy.

The exposed driver feature, its sole purpose is not only aesthetic enhancements, but audio performance as well. Believe it or not, this unit can create a rather exceptional high definition sound. Its total output power of 40 W is more than enough to fill a small to medium sized room with great sound that will make your TV watching experience go to a new place from its standard audio speakers; the unit was especially designed for 40" Class TV models and larger, so its definitely loud enough.

Overall the Sharp HE HT-SB20 2.0-Channel sound bar home theatre system is a good choice at its price point; definitely affordable for the large majority of people. Although it has some big competitors as more and more affordable units hit the market, this is a decent system worth checking out. Although I have no hold-back when recommending this Sharp unit, like with all audio products, I suggest you go out and test a few before making a purchase; a unit that I like may not be your first choice, always worth taking some time to check out your options.
