I have recently gone over a lot of products from Philips, but was unable to find something that blew my away. On the other side, this soundbar from them was something not spectacular, but the perfect investment; affordable, quality sound, decent design and Bluetooth. It would have been a pity not to introduce you to it.

Recentely released, not highly promoted by any means, this unit pretty much went underground for its first day on the market. It beats me why big companies don't invest in advertising their affordable units when everyone is going crazy for soundbar systems. It became available for purchase at Amazon last month, on the 25th; no review from customers yet, so I had to take my "user-experience" research to other places.

When I said affordable, I really meant affordable. This uni will most likely serve those who don't want to break the bank when improving their TV sound system.

When it comes to audio quality, I see no reason why someone using it in a small-mid room should complain. For this price you get a good Virtual surround sound feature that will give life to your shows and movies. In addition to that, the soundbar system features Dolby Digital for a higher digital multi-channel audio standard; this will allow you to experience superb quality surround sound audio with realistic spatial cues. Also, the 30 W subwoofer will add a "thrill" experience to your entire TV watching/music listening experience with the help of a well-calibrated bass delivery. As for streaming options, this unit will not disappoint you; although it doesn't feature AirPlay and other new-age technology, it still features Bluetooth which is in high demand this year. Alongside Bluetooth you also have to possibility to play your favorite music directly from your favorite device like iPod, iPhone, iPad, MP3 player, or laptop through a simple connection to your home cinema using the Audio in feature. And to make things easier, this unit is also equipped with a USB port, so you can stream your content directly from your USB drives and devices.

With a decent design which includes low-rise profile, and a decent set of features, this unit is one of the top picks at this price point. The compact size and lightweight stature make this unit perfect for any small room/house. Overall recommended for any movie/TV watching, music listening or gaming experience. The Philips HTL2160/F7 is well-worth the money.
