I got an email about this Bluetooth wireless speaker today, and done quick research on it just to see what it’s all about. Honestly this I wasn’t expecting much, but I really liked its design at first sight, and thought of digging up some info about it. And because I see this as a cool little gadget, worth the investment I’m writing my thoughts down for you in case you ever consider giving this speaker a shot.

I didn't find the exact date when this unit was launched, although it was launched recently, Spring 2013; first user reviews started popping up in March and they all seem satisfied with the quality of the product.

Because this was developed and meant to be a multi-purpose speaker, it will also serve those people who need it as a conference call unit (features a full duplex microphone). But it's also perfect for those that need a portable speaker for music streaming around the house.

Pros:
  • Perfect for VoIP applications
  • Serves as a portable power bank
Cons:
  • Poorly accessorized

It's primary feature must definitely be its multifunctionality. This speaker can not only stream music (more on this later), but can also double up as a charger so you can charge any device laying around the house using this speaker's battery power., and can also serve as a speakerphone perfect for taking quick handsfree calls while listening to music as well as conference calls when multiple parties/people are involved. For those that travel a lot, or love the outdoors (even your very own patio) these wireless speakers have became a must-have accessory. This was meant to serve a large variety of consumers, but from what I see this unit will most likely appeal to those that take a real interest in design and simplicity; looking for quick, simple solutions to frequently met needs.

When it comes to streaming music and delivering audio, this speaker is flawless, and I mean it. It can stream music via Bluetooth, something that's a must in 2013's smart device revolution. The Native Union SWITCH is equipped with two high performance drivers and an enhanced base-reflex system and an active sub-woofer that will not only bring crystal clear, high fidelity sound (highs, mids), but pure low bass as well. The SWITCH was especially designed and developed to bring the most out of its compact size and deliver audio like most portable speaker can't; this was truly optimized to the fullest. You can use vertically or horizontally, and the sound quality won't change.

The battery will offer a total of 10 to 14 hours playback time; also doubles as a power bank for your mobile devices. As for design the unit has a LEGO-style look and comes in a variety of 5 different colors, making it versatile all around and matching every decor it might encounter.

If the features don't appeal to you, you should check out the price, specs and design. Although I was ready to delete the email containing the information about it, I'm really glad I didn't, this unit made my day. Will surely check this up close and report back. But for now, all I can say is that I am impressed with the guys from Native Union and kindly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable speaker.
