Since last year, when I wrote a review about the JBL J22i, I haven’t really covered any good, trustworthy in-ear headphones. Some people have asked me about this topic and so I gave a look around older models that are still in demand today yet their price has dropped to an affordable mark. Although the unit I chose to report on today has pretty much kept its price point strong, I think the price-quality ratio is as great as it was the first it came out on the market.

The Klipsch brand prides itself on 66 years of well-tuned quality and tradition. As you would expect these headphones make no exception when it comes to quality. Since they were made available at Amazon on August 13, 2012, this unit has seen some really great popularity, having over 70 user reviews.

Although a great piece of audio equipment all around, I feel the Klipsch Image S4i - II will most likely benefit Apple product owners more. The three-button control allowing you to control a lot of functions without searching your pockets for your gadget.

Pros:
  • Comfortable to wear for hours
  • Award winning sound
Cons:
  • Design makes the cord fairly heavy

For thoseof you that have owned a S4 headphones you must know that the S4i II offers the same sound delivery. These are award-winning acoustics and come equipped with an 8.5mm dual magnet micro-speaker. The advanced audio technology featured will cover a wide frequency range (10Hz-19kHz), while delivering dynamic detail for crisp highs, warm mids and deep, smooth (and rich) bass. The noise isolating feature will not only allow you to tune out every bit of outside noise but also hear the music properly and enjoy every little sound and audio effect that would would have missed otherwise. Thus letting you enjoy a wider variety of music genres and various artists.

When it comes to the issue of "comfort", it's hard to beat any Klipsch headphones. Their patented oval ear tips will naturally fit the contours of any type of ear canals, and so providing a more secure fit and most importantly comfortable long-term wear; for me this is a great thing when it comes to working out or jogging for a few hours. Most headphones tend to get uncomfortable after 30-45 minutes of wear. But these seem to fit and feel better. And of course these also have the role of providing a superior noise isolation feature we talked about earlier. This lets you enjoy music at much lower, safer volumes (great for outdoor and indoor use as well). Overall, besides unequaled comfort, the patented oval ear tips are meant to create an acoustic seal that produces the renowned, high-performance sound that Klipsch prides itself on.

Another feature that deeply defines this product is the 3-button remote for music and voice control on select Apple products; this is the main reason I mentioned that Apple users will most likely benefit from using the Klipsch Image S4i - II. The unit also comes with a directional mic for hands-free phone calls, allowing you to comfortably take any phone call without searching for your phone.

Every feature and quality, along with the new tangle resistant flat cables (these have a matte finish and feel more substantial than the previous version), makes these headphones a real bargain. I for one would definitely take these into consideration if I were to buy a new pair of in-ear headphones for any type of use, from jogging to working or simply music listening sessions.
